About Us

Our Story

The mission of the CAS Business Office is to provide consistency through centralized services, offering our expertise in processing a wide variety of critical business operation transactions and functions. We are committed to providing superior service and creating partnerships with our customers to ensure their needs are fulfilled to the highest standard.

The CAS Business Office is launched in phases starting in fall 2022. The College of Arts and Sciences Division of Administrative Shared Services (CASDAS) project was initiated by the former Dean, Bruce Blonigen. The purpose of this change was to reimagine how the college administers and supports student, faculty, and staff and to organize our workforce to assure consistency in services across our units, deploy resources and staff expertise prudently, and create a more closely integrated network of professionals and practitioners who work in concert to run the largest college at UO.

There are two arms of the CAS shared services structure. The Academic Support Units and the Business Office. ASUs are comprised of staff who work directly with the academic units and the academic leadership who focus on departmental priorities. The Business Office manages the business operations for the College and serves as a liaison to central departments and resources. Additionally, both the ASUs and CBO work in conjunction with centers and institutes to ensure services and support are met.
